I celebrated a special birthday with friends and family at Local Color Flowers, and it was just perfect! We brought the cake and champagne, and the owner, Ellen Frost, provided flowers, vases, and everything we needed for each person to make an individual arrangement—including a short tutorial. She was very flexible and easy to work with. So many people told me it was the best birthday party they’d been to in years, and I keep getting pictures from friends showing me their flowers as they continue to open! (And this was in late February, even when you don’t think of flowers—which might be one reason everyone felt so good!) Can’t recommend Local Color Flowers highly enough!

I have done the holiday wreath class twice and it has been fantastic both times. The staff is very friendly and they make it easy for anyone to do. I highly recommend taking one of the classes!

When I first chatted with Ellen, I had only a vague color scheme in mind (citrusy florals and succulents) and mentioned how much I liked the bouquets and centerpieces she created for the weddings of two of my friends a few years ago. Beyond that, I left the details up to Ellen and her team and knew I’d be happy without whatever they came up with. But wow, Local Color Flowers truly knocked it out of the park. My jaw dropped when she walked into my hotel room the morning of my wedding with absolutely stunning bouquets, wrist corsages and boutonnières for the wedding party. The variety of flowers she packed into each bouquet and arrangement was astounding, and the colors were even better than I imagined. She took the time to point out some of the flowers in each arrangement and even included a special (and enormous!) pastelegance peony in the center of my bridal bouquet. And if the bouquets weren’t amazing enough, she also blew us away with a fabulous ceremony arch display, cocktail table bud vases and a mix of floral and centerpieces and succulent and herb planters at the dinner tables. Local Color Flowers did my wedding flowers and they were absolutely perfect. They were super affordable. We got bouquets, boutonnières, a flower crown, loose flowers for hair, loose flowers for cake, a corsage, and flowers for our alter. Carling and Ellen were both super kind and responsive. We met and did a consultation where I described colors and textures, and asked for the inclusion of eucalyptus if possible. Keep in mind the flowers are locally sourced and you may not be able to get specific flowers, which was not a priority for me. I loved the inclusion of wheat, dried flowers, and herbs in my flowers. Attached are photos that will be updated once I receive my professional photos.

My husband and I are thrilled we picked Local Color Flowers as the florist for our wedding. Ellen and her team were warm, professional, and really knew their stuff. When we were planning our wedding Local Color Flowers was one of our venues recommended vendors and I am so glad they were because I don't think we would have found them otherwise! We loved the hyper local aspect and that really sold us, along with Ellen being the absolute best. I gave her a color palate and a vision board and she totally ran with it. She was so understanding when our original venue cancelled on us, so we had to end our contract, only to sign back on once we secured a new venue that they also work with. Everyone complimented our flowers and they made our photos even more amazing. And they still look just as good preserved! Ellen and the whole team at Local Color Flowers are such a joy to work with and we could not recommend them more!

When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we wanted to find a sustainable florist and we were so grateful to stumble upon Ellen and her amazing team at Local Color Flowers, where they source all of their flowers locally throughout the year. Our wedding was in November, so we didn't know how much variety we had to choose from, but were blown away at all the flowers and greenery that would be available around that time. While some brides may not like not knowing exactly what their bouquet is going to look like, I couldn't have been more ecstatic with the idea! In my mind it was one less thing to think about; plus, I felt like it was Christmas morning waiting to see the flowers. I knew I could trust Ellen and her team to execute a beautiful bouquet with my color scheme, while coordinating with my hair comb, the boutonnieres, and the bridal party bouquets. I loved how she incorporated non-typical greenery, such as rosemary, ferns, mint, and cabbage. My husband still says rosemary reminds him of our wedding day! We are so grateful to have worked with such an incredible floral team and to support a local business with a great mission. I would absolutely recommend Local Color Flowers to anyone looking for a florist that is easy to work with and will put your mind at ease with their professionalism and amazing bouquets. We are absolutely thrilled with our experience with Ellen from Local Color Flowers! We chose the DIY experience where we got to come in the day before our wedding to create our own bud vases, and it was such a memorable and fun part of our wedding planning. Ellen was fantastic throughout the entire process. She guided us with a warm and expert hand, making sure we felt confident and inspired while designing our arrangements. The joy and creativity we felt during this experience were reflected in the gorgeous flowers she helped us create. My family also raved about the DIY session and how much they enjoyed being part of the process. The flowers on our wedding day were absolutely stunning and matched our vision perfectly. We are so lucky to have Local Color in Baltimore. Ellen did the flowers for our wedding, and even the folks at the wedding venue were asking where our flowers were from because they were so impressed. Ellen and her team are so passionate about their work and the farmers they support. I gave very little direction for our wedding flowers because I knew I could fully trust their decision making -- I'm glad I did, the arrangements were stunning.
